Rebecca Gartrell
itRebecca was an ultra runner from San Antonio, TX who had a dream to run across Texas - all 800 miles of it from east to west. One week and 265 miles into her journey she was killed by a hit-and-run driver, who has still not been identified.
The blog of her cross-state run, written by her best friend and support van driver, is full of the good experiences they had along the way and the warm and helpful people they met. Good people attract Good people.
We never met Rebecca, but after her death her family reached out to us to tell us how much she had loved Be Good To People and that she had her favorite BGTP shirt with her and that she was planning to wear it during her run. Thank you to Rebecca for her open spirit, and to Keith and Becca for sharing her story with us.
