Bright Friday™ was created by Be Good to People® in 2014 in an effort to refocus attention on the true meaning of the Thanksgiving holiday. We celebrate Bright Friday the day after Thanksgiving to keep the emphasis on people - not purchases.
Don’t get us wrong…we love shopping as much as anyone! The holidays are a fun time to shop, we just don’t think it’s necessary to leave family and friends to rush out to stores during a time of Thanksgiving when you can spend that time together spreading Good instead. Spend your Thanksgiving time acquiring something truly meaningful - wonderful experiences and sharing Kindness with your family and others.

Wear Be Good To People attire and Spread the Good™ all day just by
walking around! |
Hand out hygiene or snack kits to the homeless, with a note of encouragement.

Draw some positive notes and leave them on cars, front doors, on store shelves or anywhere people may find them!

Purchase gift cards in small amounts and leave them in the senior or baby care aisles in a store.

Tell your local fire, police, and hospital workers that you appreciate them.

Buy flowers from an independent florist and give one flower to various people during the day.

Look around you and see all the opportunities to spread Good every day -
the simple ideas are limitless! |
Give extra-big tips to people in the service industry with a note wishing them a great day, or just the note if an extra tip is out of your means.

Volunteer in your community - work at a
food bank or shelter, or anywhere that inspires you. |
