Remember the people you don't see every day but that have supported you from afar. Send a handwritten note, call or text just to say Hi, go public and tell them how much they mean to you on social media, send flowers or yummy treats. Better yet - visit!!

Celebrate back to school and thank a teacher from your school days, ask a teacher if they have a wishlist on Amazon or through another channel, let them know when you see that they are having a positive impact on your child, volunteer in the classroom, volunteer to help a parent who is homeschooling or has a student who is learning remotely.

Show extra kindness to waitstaff, retail workers, valets, checkers, and tellers and tip extra if you can, give them a flower or BGTP sticker, say "Thank you" and mean it, give them a real compliment and share it with their manager.

Students need all the support and encouragement we can give them, and we need to teach them about kindness as well as ABC's. Volunteer as a mentor at a youth center, take a teenager to lunch and be available to listen, tell your kids, grandkids, neighbors' kids how special they are - be specific!

In Alzheimer's Awareness Month, let's take the time to put some love on our seniors. Volunteer at a senior center or assisted living facility calling Bingo or sharing a skill you have, visit your grandparents and listen to their stories, mow a senior's yard or rake the leaves up, check on your older neighbors, run an errand for a senior.
